task
For a Formula 1 fan club, the website needed to be updated to enhance the user experience and expand its structure by adding dedicated gallery, shop, and membership pages.
approach
Formula 1 is a passion shared by millions around the world, captivating audiences with its speed and intensity. With this in mind, I focused on capturing the visual style and energy of the sport, creating a website that fully conveys the spirit of high-speed competition. The goal was to inspire new visitors and encourage them to become members of the club.

Our mission is to create an East Bay community built around Formula 1. A dedicated space for new and old fans to gather and build long-lasting relationships, all with the goal to grow globally with like-minded partners.Fueling Passion, Building Community™
Strategy & Concept Ideas
The design concept for the site was centered on capturing the spirit of Formula 1 rivalry and the visual intensity of racing. Starting from the homepage, I structured the layout to resemble a racing track and created an animation showcasing the top three drivers from the previous season alongside their cars.
Throughout the site, I incorporated design elements inspired by real races—such as track markings, signage, and other visual cues—to enhance authenticity. This approach helped convey the energy of Formula 1 and aimed to inspire new users to join the club.

Visual Design
To fully capture the style of Formula 1, I used a variety of design approaches. These included micro-animations inspired by racing tracks and race cards on the events page to highlight upcoming competitions.
On the gallery page, I implemented a grid layout that mirrors the starting grid of cars, where each folder represents a position and features a title displayed in a yellow frame, along with its corresponding grid number. I also incorporated subtle background graphics that visually suggest a car’s trajectory through corners, adding a sense of motion and depth.
Additionally, I used red and white lines—echoing real track boundaries—to reinforce authenticity across the pages. Through these small but deliberate details, I was able to closely recreate the visual language of Formula 1 racing and convey its atmosphere throughout the site.

A world of perks
Since the founders of the club collaborate with Formula 1 photographers, we developed a gallery that allows users to purchase photos from real races. This not only expanded the range of services offered by the club but also created an additional opportunity to promote it.
We also introduced a system that enables users to select options that best match their needs in terms of features and pricing. In addition, an online store was integrated into the site, offering both club merchandise and Formula 1–themed products.

Result
As a result of this project, I developed an engaging and inspiring website for a Formula 1 fan club. The updated platform includes an integrated store with a structured product grid, as well as dedicated events and gallery sections where visitors can explore major races and iconic moments from real competitions. Users can also purchase photos captured by renowned photographers.
Compared to the previous version, which lacked these features, the new site significantly enhanced functionality and user experience. This led to a threefold increase in website traffic and allowed the club to expand its range of business services overall.
